On the roll

Well during the last week I was quite active finishing up a lot of stuff. There is no big deal about it but I want to share the progress I made. After all the new/old pictures, I finally added some R Code. I added a completely new menu with R Code I have written on my own. Like for the pictures, I gathered a lot of material over the years and think I like to share it (even nobody cares). First of all, Getting started with your Project in R a Code how I start almost every Project in R. In future, I want to present a folder structure and information how I organize R Projects. Secondly Evolution of a line plot in R and ANOVA with Treatments and Plot just some short Code I wanted to share.

To all this, I working on something to add to the personal part of this webpage, I want to share some personal experiences with software and applications I use as a scientist. And maybe I will start a kind of Publication discussion in the nearer future.

By the way, if you do not come from Twitter to read these lines feel free to follow me there.

Finally made it

Well, after the first few changes the last time, I manage to change some of the basic structures of the website. I added a few more pictures and there is the first R Code to learn R.

R is coming

As you maybe know, I am a biologist (Who am I?). Thus I work with different programs, a program that is amazingly adaptively to any of your requirements is R. I think I have discovered it far too late during my studies and I think every student in the STEM fields should start as early as possible with learning this program and the language. You can do almost everything in this coding language even without knowing it well. And if a topic is not present in R up to now there will be somebody that is currently evolving a package.

If my enthusiastic writing does not convince you just have a look on google and some related web pages Google Search. Or Just start on this page discovering R.

And by the way, I added some new/old pictures here and here (I am still figuring out how to present them well, should I add text? additional information? any ideas contact me)

Who am I?

I am a Biologist and have studied at a German University, and this is a kind of Homepage where I want to share some stuff including pictures, information and also some small R codes.

I am not a professional photograph, but after time spending in nature taking pictures of different situations, I don’t want to leave them on my hard drive.

I want to share them and like if somebody like them, too. But my intention is not that you spend your time in front of your screen. Moreover, I want you exploring the nature. You don’t have to go to faraway places to discover the nature. Sometimes the old plants of the neighbor or „dirty“ gardens or areas nearby are an excellent place to explore.  Just go out and spend some time searching for insects or nice small worlds. Only if you spend time outside you can make great outside experiences. Even if you look at the common boring plants, you will find a new world.

It is not always about knowing what you look at but teaching the eye to explore the small differences and details, because if you recognize them, you can differentiate things (or species in a biological context). Learning about these differences comes semi-automatically and if you want to find out more about that just go to the determining part of this page and start exploring.
